ADAS Calibration

Precision radar and camera calibration for modern European vehicle safety systems.

What is ADAS?

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are the safety technologies built into modern European vehicles. These include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and parking assist systems.

These systems rely on precisely calibrated radar sensors and cameras mounted throughout your vehicle. When calibration is out of specification — even by a fraction of a degree — these systems may not function correctly, potentially compromising your safety.

ADAS recalibration is required after windscreen replacement, suspension work, wheel alignment changes, or collision repair — any event that may shift the position of sensors or cameras.

Hella Gutmann Calibration Equipment

Anthony Costello Automotive uses Hella Gutmann radar and camera calibration systems — the same equipment trusted by dealerships across Europe. This allows us to perform both static and dynamic calibration procedures to manufacturer specifications.

Our calibration services are insurance approved, meaning we can work directly with your insurer on windscreen replacement and collision repair claims that require ADAS recalibration.

Systems We Calibrate

Comprehensive ADAS calibration for all major European makes

Adaptive cruise control (ACC)
Automatic emergency braking (AEB)
Lane departure warning (LDW)
Lane keep assist (LKA)
Blind spot monitoring
Rear cross-traffic alert
Parking assist systems
360-degree camera systems

When Is ADAS Calibration Needed?

Your vehicle’s safety systems should be recalibrated after any of the following

Collision Repair

Any impact that shifts the position of sensors or cameras requires recalibration.

Windscreen Replacement

Front-facing cameras are mounted to the windscreen and must be recalibrated after replacement.

Suspension & Alignment

Changes to ride height, suspension components or wheel alignment can affect sensor angles.

ADAS Calibration FAQ

Common questions about ADAS calibration

What does ADAS stand for?
ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. It is the collective term for safety technologies such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking and blind spot monitoring.
How long does ADAS calibration take?
Depending on the vehicle and number of systems requiring calibration, the process typically takes between 1 and 3 hours. We can provide a more accurate estimate once we assess your vehicle.
Is ADAS calibration covered by insurance?
Yes, in most cases. If calibration is required as part of a windscreen replacement or collision repair claim, it is typically covered by your insurer. Our calibration services are insurance approved.
Do all European vehicles have ADAS?
Most European vehicles manufactured from 2015 onwards include some form of ADAS. The specific systems vary by make, model and specification level. We can advise which systems your vehicle is equipped with.
What happens if ADAS is not calibrated correctly?
Incorrectly calibrated ADAS can lead to false warnings, failure to detect hazards, or incorrect braking and steering interventions. Proper calibration is essential for the safe operation of these systems.
