Mercedes-Benz Service A
Your essential scheduled maintenance — keeping your Mercedes running at its best
What Is a Mercedes-Benz Service A?
Service A is the first and most fundamental scheduled maintenance in the Mercedes-Benz servicing cycle. Often described by Mercedes-Benz as “more than just an oil change,” Service A covers all the essential checks and replacements needed to keep your vehicle running safely and efficiently.
Your vehicle’s ASSYST PLUS system monitors driving conditions, engine load, and time to calculate exactly when your Service A is due — typically every 10,000–15,000 kilometres or 12 months, whichever comes first.
At Anthony Costello Automotive, we perform every Service A to the exact Mercedes-Benz manufacturer specification, using genuine parts and approved synthetic lubricants — all without the dealership price tag.

What’s Included in Service A
Every Service A at AC Automotive covers the following items
Synthetic Oil & Filter Change
Full replacement of engine oil with Mercedes-Benz approved synthetic oil, plus a new oil filter element.
Brake System Inspection
Visual inspection of brake pads, discs, and lines. Brake wear sensor check and pad thickness measurement.
Fluid Level Checks
All fluid levels inspected and corrected — coolant, power steering, windscreen washer, and transmission fluid.
Tyre Inspection & Pressure
Tyre pressures checked and corrected. Tread depth measured and condition assessed for uneven wear patterns.
Vehicle Safety Inspection
Comprehensive inspection of lights, wipers, horn, underbody, suspension components, and exhaust system.
Service Counter Reset
ASSYST PLUS service indicator reset and maintenance counter updated for your next scheduled service interval.
When Is Service A Due?
Your Mercedes-Benz will tell you when it’s time
Mercedes-Benz vehicles use the ASSYST PLUS (Active Service System) to monitor your driving patterns, engine load, fuel quality, and time elapsed since the last service. Rather than relying on a fixed schedule, the system calculates the optimal service interval for your specific driving conditions.
When Service A is approaching, you’ll see a notification on your instrument cluster — typically showing “Service A” along with a countdown of days or kilometres remaining.
Service A and Service B alternate throughout the life of your vehicle. After your first Service A, you’ll have a Service B, then back to Service A, and so on.
